Matter

Matter 

            Anything that has mass and occupy space is called matter.

Q: HOW MATTER IS CLASSIFIED ?

ANS:All matter can be classified as either a mixture or a pure substance. Mixtures can be homogeneous or heterogeneous. Pure substances can be either elements or compounds. Pure Substances cannot be separated into component parts by physical methods and follow the law of constant composition.

   STATE OF MATTER

There are three state of matter     

Solid

The molecules are rigidly held in place, a molecules neighbors change only very slowly or often times not at all.

Liquid

  Molecules are packed closely together (touching each other) but still moving. The arrangement of neighboring molecules is rapidly changing

Gas

 The molecules are rigidly held in place, a molecules neighbors change only very slowly or often times not at all.
