Empirical Formula

 The simplest formula of a compound which shows the simplest whole number ratio of atom of each element present in the molecules of that compound is called as Empirical Formula .

for example :

                     

                   Molecular Formula of gulucose IS C6H12O6 and empirical formula is 1:2:1

Empirical Formula mass

                                       Empirical Formula mass of a compound is equal to the sum of the atomic masses of all the atom present in the empirical formula.

For example

Molecular Formula of gulucose IS C6H12O6 Empirical Formula mass  is 6+12+6=24
